UPANAYANAM :

UPANAYANAM  for  young  boys  is  done  at  odd  ages  like  7,9,11,13 etc.

  • Once parents decide on doing UPANAYANAM for their son, first step is to discuss with family prohith the suitable auspicious date for the function.
  • For this Prohith will need the star of the boy and mother (Better to have their horoscopes). Even the mutt and Veda they belong to should be informed, so accordingly the procedure will be followed later.
  • Normally he would fix, 4 / 5 dates. Parents can fix any one date deciding on their convenience. Once the date is fixed, parents can decide on the venue of the function.
  • If they are planning to do in a marriage hall, the hall can be given advance and hall is fixed.(on an auspicious day and time).
  • We would need the hall from previous morning to next evening. ( If we go to mantap on the function day morning, it would get too late. So, better to be in the mantap the previous day so some basic arrangements can be done without hurry)
  • Next is ARISINA KUTTAL function (This day can be any auspicious day / we can ask the prohit for this too) – Refer ARISINA KUTTAL page.
